Why pain persists
Beneath the pain, the joint or spine environment slowly changes. Treating only the symptom can quiet the pain for a while — but it lets that change carry on underneath.
Stiffness on waking, pain climbing stairs, a reduced range of movement, and pain that worsens in cold weather or after activity.
Wear in the joint or disc, low-grade inflammation, weakened supporting muscles, and how the joint is moved and loaded every day.
Pain that comes and goes can settle into something constant, movement narrows, and daily life slowly reorganises around the pain.
Conditions Orthiva is built for
Osteoarthritis, stiffness and pain on the stairs.
Persistent lower-back pain and stiffness.
Radiating leg pain, tingling or numbness.
A herniated or bulging disc pressing on nerves.
Cervical stiffness, spondylosis and headaches.
Painful, restricted shoulder movement.
The gradual "wear-and-tear" arthritis of the joints.
The autoimmune arthritis that inflames the joints.
The uric-acid arthritis of sudden, intense attacks.
The difference
Orthiva is not against any other form of care. It simply starts in a different place — with the cause of the pain, not just the pain itself.
A general comparison of common care models — not a comment on any individual clinic or doctor.
Assessment first
The same knee or back pain can have very different causes. So Orthiva never starts with a treatment — it starts with understanding. A program is recommended only after a physician-led assessment of what is driving your pain.
By the end of your assessment you will understand:
A clear explanation of what is driving your pain.
The factors — physical and lifestyle — behind the problem.
An honest view of whether this is the right path for your case.
A grounded picture of what recovery could involve — no over-promising.
The Orthiva Assessment is the starting point — a structured, physician-led evaluation of your joint or spine condition, and whether an Orthiva program is right for you.

The programs
If an Orthiva program is right for you, your doctor recommends one of these after your assessment. Each is personalised — the specifics are decided for your case.
For chronic knee and other joint conditions — osteoarthritis, arthritis and joint stiffness.
For back and neck conditions — sciatica, slip disc, cervical spondylosis and chronic back pain.
For sports and overuse injuries — tendon, ligament and soft-tissue conditions.
Programs are recommended after assessment, never chosen from a menu. What a program includes is decided by your doctor, for your condition.
The recovery journey
A structured, physician-led evaluation of your joint or spine condition.
Your history, reports and examination reviewed by our doctors.
If appropriate, a Joint & Spine Restoration Program built for your condition.
Your program delivered and monitored by the clinical team.
Movement and function reviewed, and the plan adjusted to your response.
A maintenance plan to protect and sustain your recovery.
An honest fit
Orthiva is built for chronic, ongoing joint and spine conditions. It is not the right starting point for everyone — and we would rather say so, and point you toward the right care.
Told you need surgery?
Some joints genuinely do need surgery. If yours is one of them, our doctors will tell you so — honestly, and up front. We would rather say so up front.
But for many people, “surgery is the only option left” is said before the joint has ever been fully assessed — each earlier step handled separately, by a different person, with no one reading the whole picture. A structured, physician-led assessment often finds room to work on the joint before that fork is reached.
Understand your joint before you decide.

Evidence-informed care
The therapies and formulations used in an Orthiva programme have been studied in peer-reviewed clinical research — including randomized controlled trials — using the same internationally recognized measures modern medicine uses: the WOMAC osteoarthritis index, the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) for pain, and the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) for back pain.
Our written commitment
Your Day-0 Orthiva Score report carries a printed improvement threshold — the number we hold ourselves to. If your Score has not meaningfully improved by your Day-90 re-measure, and you have kept your side of the plan — attendance and home protocol, visible to you throughout — we repeat your program's treatment stages at no cost. One repeat, in writing, from Day 0.
We don't promise a result. We promise what we'll do if the numbers don't move.
‘Meaningful improvement’ uses the published thresholds of the medical instruments themselves (WOMAC/ODI/NDI/VAS), printed on your own report — never our judgement after the fact.

Questions & Answers
Orthiva starts with an Orthiva Assessment — a physician-led evaluation of your joint or spine condition. If a Joint & Spine Restoration Program is appropriate, your doctor recommends one, personalised to your case. Treatment is discussed only after the assessment.
For many chronic joint and spine conditions, a structured, physician-led program can manage pain and improve movement without surgery — which is why the non-invasive path is worth exploring first. Surgery is the right call in some cases, and our doctors will tell you honestly whether your case is suited to Orthiva. Bring your MRI, X-ray and blood reports to your assessment.
No. Whether any particular therapy is appropriate is decided only after your assessment, and only if it suits your case. The assessment comes first; recommendations follow from it.
Yes. Please do not stop any prescribed medication on your own. Any change to your medication is a decision for you and your treating doctor.
It varies by condition, severity and how long it has persisted. Many people notice a change in stiffness and pain within the first weeks, but timelines differ — progress is measured throughout, and we do not promise a specific result.
Yes. Orthiva is physician-led — you are assessed and treated by one of our doctors, who examines you, reviews your reports and explains what they find.
